ABOUT KANGAROO ISLAND MARRON

History

Kangaroo Island Marron is a family owned business that is dedicated to bringing you the highest quality farm grown Marron delivered live to your door.

Our local farm manager Justin Le Cornu is a qualified chef. After many years in the industry working as a commercial chef, one day he was given a Marron to put on to the restaurants menu. Impressed with the unique taste of the Marron and their suitability to commercial restaurants (as they were able to be kept alive in a dormant state in the fridge for a number of days) made them a very attractive addition to any menu.

This interest in the species led him to commence an investigation as to how to regularly source them. At the time there was no constant supply of them, so he decided he would investigate the growing of them. During this process he found that he liked the lifestyle and decided that he would move to Kangaroo Island with his wife and begin growing them himself, originally working as head chef in the Parndana community center, he has now hung up his apron and is dedicated to growing Marron. Where are we

We are situated centrally in the Island, just outside of Parndana along the Playford Highway (4327 Playford Highway) almost directly opposit the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, approximately a half an hours drive from Kingscote.
